"Almost everyone who is unhappy is unhappy for the same reason..." reports Travis Bradberry in his blog Emotional Intelligence 2.0. Do you know what that reason is? It's unrealistic expectations.
It's pretty simple really. When our expectations match our experience, we feel happy. When our expectations DO NOT match our experience we feel disappointed, frustrated, angry, cheated, unhappy...the list could go on.
In our family, I am the CEM (Chief Executive Mama) because every team needs a leader. Here's the catch...there is a big difference between being a LEADER and being in charge.
Here's what I mean...
Leaders create a vision for their team, are agents of change, find creative solutions, continue to grow themselves and thrive on building relationships.
When you're in charge, or managing a team, you are responsible for creating goals and making sure they are attained, keeping the status quo, creating systems and processes and direct your team in a more short-term mentality.
